Eastex Credit Union History
Eastex Credit Union was originally chartered in 1953 to serve the employees of the East Texas Pulp and Paper Mill, providing them with fair and reliable financial services.
At that time, many employees had limited access to affordable credit. The credit union was founded to give workers a place to save money, access loans, and support one another through a cooperative financial system.
Over the decades, Eastex Credit Union has grown alongside the communities of Southeast Texas. As local industries evolved and communities expanded, the credit union broadened its field of membership to serve additional employer groups, families, and residents throughout the region.
