The Eastex Pulp and Paper Federal Credit Union was founded as a member-owned financial cooperative in 1955 to help meet the needs of the Evadale community. Although we are known today as simply Eastex Credit Union, our mission to provide our members with the best financial products and services has remained the same. Due to the continual support of our members over the years, Eastex has continued to grow and been able to also provide our services to additional communities, including Silsbee, Buna, Kountze, and Kirbyville. One of the most important ways we are able to show our gratitude to our loyal members and the areas we are proud to have served for the last 62 years, is being actively invested in our communities. Eastex CU works to promote worthwhile causes and sponsor local events, which make a positive impact on the communities we serve.
We are proud to be a part of many community involvement endeavors, especially those which benefit students, teachers, and schools. We recognize the value of education and just a few of the ways we have invested academically are:
- Providing scholarships for local graduating seniors
- Sponsoring Operation Graduation for 5 area schools
- Sponsoring Score Boards for 5 local schools
- Providing Financial Education Seminars for the students of Buna, Evadale, Kirbyville, Kountze, and Silsbee
- Providing Academic Calendars for Teachers
We are also enthusiastic about our involvement with the following organizations and events that have a positive impact on our communities:

- Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraisers and Walks with the American Cancer Society
- Buna Redbud Festival and Rodeo

- Many additional local festival sponsorships in Buna, Silsbee, Evadale, and Kirbyville
